http://www.archive.org/details/gd1981-05-06.senn421.wise.andrewf.82368.sbeok.flac16maybe some lurkers or 1st tyme posters can chime in
(OK, double-edit...)
I usually don't complain about not being able to DL SB's here, but read the bottom line of this >
- The show was originally scheduled for 05-07-1981.
- WavMerge and CD-Wave used to make new track-ID's.
- Soundforge used for the patches, and to make fades.
- TLH used for SBE-OK, lossless compression, and checksums.
- Tape flips covered with patches taken from ShnID-17697.
- Patch in Rooster (in crowd noise at track end), 9:17 > 9:54.
- Patch in Dire Wolf, 0:00 > 0:08.
- Patch in Jam, 0:39 > 0:55.
- Patch in Drums, 6:30 > 6:37.
- Because filler is from SBD, this AUD is currently streaming-only
for a few tiny patches? BOGUS!

Re: favorite Cassidy |
Excellent - And I mean that - I was there and it was my B-Day - and I still recall the shout out for Bobby Sands from Bobby Weir!!!!
Truly a great time in my life - young, stupid and havin' tons of fun!!!
And I still have the 5/7/81 ticket stub!!!! They were honored on the 6th and I was effing psyched that the Dead rescheduled just for my B-Day!!!!

Re: favorite Cassidy |
I think the actual reason this can't be downloaded is due to the fact that this is a Dick's Picks release. Certainly worthy of such as this is a rockin' show. TOO here is tremendous and He's Gone is precise. Plus, the hidden Scarlet/Fire is epic. I apparently really like this show....e

Re: favorite Cassidy |
wow, 4-4-88 jumped to mind as well. Also night 3 in providence 87 was very strong. Interesting question about favorite version of Cassidy. Maybe even more interesting is "what makes a good Cassidy?" For me it has to be Brent. When he is on vocally and musically the song really works. I'm not saying there aren't any great pre or post Brent versions but on a off night the jam portion can get lazy and a guy like Mydland can pick things up.

Re: favorite Cassidy |
I agree it's often the less obvious factors that usually make for a good Cassidy for me. 6-6-91 is another good one because of the things that are going on in the background.

Re: favorite Cassidy |
1994?! not bad! Still have to check out the 83 & 89 ones mentioned earlier. With Donna, I do like the 5/7/77 she was a definite plus for that version.
Imo, the best Scarlets had her along for the ride.
I still believe her "wake up" wails at the end of many PITB's were a GD inside joke on the acidheads. a cold pail of water-haha
